This study for access managers involved looking at where dog walkers went and what they did they there, how their visits and behaviour were influenced and the impact they had on each location.

“How could the experience be improved for everyone’s benefit?”

Following widespread consultation and stakeholder engagement, the recommendations included managers drawing up a strategic and thought-through approach towards all aspects of managing dogs, putting out positive and consistent messages, improving and simplifying communications on the ground through signs and notices, and involving dog owners themselves in finding long term solutions for some difficult issues.
